Dr. Lim’s book offers a comprehensive breakdown of the various structural issues plaguing the global economy which were exposed by the pandemic, from glaring wealth disparities to an ill-prepared public health system.

On the 16th of December 2021, MIER held an official launch in conjunction with Dr. Lim Mah Hui’s latest book “Covid-19 and the Structural Crises of Our Time.” His book illustrates and offers a comprehensive breakdown of these issues ranging from a public health system unprepared for calamities to glaring socio-economic disparities that further widened as the pandemic disproportionately hit the poor and lower working class harder than the wealthy.
Also present at the event were MIER Board Trustee YB Datuk Dr. Hamzah Kassim, MIER Executive Director Dr. Hezri Adnan, Malaysia University of Science and Technology professor Dr. Geoffrey Williams, and All Party Parliament Group Malaysia lead coordinator Dr. Juita Mohamad.
